“Get Caught Reading” During Imagination Library Week 2018
August 27, 2018
Get Ready. Get Set.
Get Caught Reading.
Imagination Library Week is September 16 -22! In celebration of this week, we are launching our 3rd annual statewide #GotCaughtReading social media challenge. Governor and First Lady Haslam will launch the #GotCaughtReading challenge on Monday, Sept. 17 by posting a photo of themselves reading an Imagination Library book with their grandchildren.
This Imagination Library Week we are celebrating over 33 Million books mailed. We can't think of a better way to mark that milestone than by sharing the love of reading and why early literacy is so important! Through the #GotCaughtReading challenge, GBBF encourages all Tennesseans to post on social media each day of Imagination Library Week, raising awareness of early childhood literacy and the joy of reading with children. Keep reading for more information on what GBBF has planned, and how you can participate!
We have two fun ways to participate in Imagination Library week online:
- Post your #GotCaughtReading picture on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. Be sure to tag us and use the hashtags #GotCaughtReading and #TNImagination. The picture can be of your child(ren) reading an Imagination Library book, you with your child(ren) reading, or even a fun picture of you and your co-workers reading an Imagination Library book. Videos are welcome, too! Each day, in addition to sharing these photos and videos on our social media outlets, we will also select one to win some Imagination Library goodies!
- Log your minutes reading with your children during Imagination Library Week. We know that reading with your children for at least 20 minutes a day can increase your child's vocabulary, increase your bond with your child and lead to early literacy and success in school. You can log your minutes using this link or by answering our poll question pinned to the top of our Facebook page. We hope everyone will participate so we can share the total number of minutes read all across the state during Imagination Library Week!
Name the Imagination Library Reading Ducks
You don't have to wait until Imagination Library Week to start helping us celebrate! Leading up to Imagination Library Week, we need your help in naming our Imagination Library Ducks. Visit our Facebook and Instagram pages to help us name our reading rubber ducks. Be sure to post a picture during Imagination Library week for your chance to win one of the ducks (and some other Imagination Library goodies).
